2IIM (styled 2iim, a Fermat Education initiative) is a Chennai-founded CAT-prep brand started in 2001 by K.S. ‘Baskar’ Baskar (IIM Calcutta) under the earlier name Ascent Education, with Rajesh Balasubramanian (IIT Madras, IIM Bangalore) joining as faculty in 2003 and later becoming its public face — he reports a 100th-percentile CAT score across five different years (2011, 2012, 2014, 2017 and 2023). The teaching style leans on short, screen-capture-style videos that build concepts from first principles rather than long lecture recordings, delivered across three formats: Live Online, Self-Paced, and a Chennai classroom batch at Anna Nagar. Course inclusions run to 30 original full-length mocks plus previous-year papers reformatted as mocks, 8,000+ practice questions, and physical books couriered with the Live Online package. 2IIM publishes its pricing on-site rather than gating it behind a sales call, though we found two different price tables live on its own homepage at the same time — confirm the current fee directly with 2IIM before paying.
