Everything below dated "expected" is based on the pattern of previous years, not a confirmed announcement, bookmark this page and we'll update it the moment either IIM notifies.
IPMAT is genuinely more fragmented than most aspirants realise going in. It isn't one national exam, it's two separate exams (run independently by IIM Indore and IIM Rohtak, with different question papers and formats), plus two more IIMs that piggyback on IIM Indore's score without running their own test, plus a fifth and sixth IIM that use an entirely different NTA-run exam under a different name. Here's how that actually breaks down, and what's expected for the 2027 admission cycle.

This piece focuses on IPMAT Indore and IPMAT Rohtak specifically, since those are the exams actually branded "IPMAT." If Jammu or Bodh Gaya are on your list, JIPMAT (100 questions across QA, DILR and VARC, 400 marks, 150 minutes, no sectional time limit) is a separate exam you'd need to research and register for independently through the NTA.

We want to be direct about how tentative this table is: it's built by projecting forward from each IIM's 2026 cycle, not from an official 2027 notification, since none has been released yet. Both IIMs have shifted their exact dates by a week or two in different years, so use this as a rough planning horizon (broadly, expect registration in February and the exam in May), not a date to write into your calendar as fixed.

Since 2027 details aren't out, the most recently completed cycle is your best concrete reference point:
- IIM Indore: registration ran 2 February to 17 March 2026, exam held in early May 2026, results released 25 May 2026. Fee: ₹4,130 (General/OBC/EWS), ₹2,065 (SC/ST/PwD).
- IIM Rohtak: registration ran 6 February to 6 April 2026, exam held 10 May 2026, results released 20 May 2026. Fee: ₹4,937 flat, no category-based concession.
Eligibility snapshot
