The short answer

Neither FIITJEE nor ALLEN wins in general. FIITJEE's published rule is no refund on a midway exit, while ALLEN's Amritsar 2026-27 page defers the dates and deductions to the fee receipt. Run the six written-quote tests at your own centre before paying either brand.

Introduction

FIITJEE's refund page says fees are "strictly non-refundable under any circumstances". An ALLEN centre refund page (Amritsar, 2026-27) says the last claim date and the deduction are printed on your fee receipt. Those two sentences tell you more about what you are signing than most brand comparisons do.

Teachers move, batches are reshuffled and centres change hands, so module and batch comparisons age quickly. The Kota-versus-home argument is real, but you cannot settle it in the abstract. What you can settle before you pay is what happens to your money if the batch turns out wrong, or the centre is not there next year.

This page puts the two brands' written terms side by side and gives you a six-test quote sheet to run at your own centre. It also shows how our free directory helps you run it. We publish this page, and our directory lists FIITJEE and ALLEN centres. We are not an institute and we do not take your fees.

Both brands run strong programmes at some centres and weaker ones at others, so a national headline tells you little about the room you will sit in.

Key takeaways

  • Neither FIITJEE nor ALLEN wins in general. The centre you would attend and its written refund terms decide whether a wrong choice costs you a year of fees.
  • FIITJEE's published rule is no refund on a midway exit. ALLEN's Amritsar 2026-27 page defers the dates and deductions to the fee receipt, and ALLEN publishes separate exit and transfer policies for some programmes. Check which applies to your centre.
  • Several FIITJEE centres in Delhi-NCR closed in January 2025. Ask any centre, of either brand, who runs it and what happens if it closes.
  • Run the six written-quote tests at your own centre before paying either brand.

What do the FIITJEE and ALLEN refund terms say?

FIITJEE's refund page says a student who leaves midway "for any reason", including illness, a parent's transfer or admission elsewhere, gets no refund. It also says fees cannot be moved to another course or student, and that a centre or programme change carries no refund. Documents are due two days before the course starts.

ALLEN's Amritsar 2026-27 page is more conditional. The first and last refund dates and the deduction sit on your receipt. Verbal, phone or email requests are not accepted. For JEE students past the last refund date, a refund follows engineering college admission, minus the "Last Refund" amount. ALLEN centres publish refund rules on their own pages; Amritsar's is an example.

ALLEN's Easy Transfer / Exit Policy is a separate document. It gives a refund of the "proportionate balance fee" within 15 days for Class 6-8 voluntary exits in Rajasthan, and free transfers between ALLEN centres or to Allen Digital for Kota students. Check whether it covers your class and programme.

The national benchmark is the Education Ministry's January 2024 guidelines. As reported by Business Today, a student leaving mid-course is refunded the remaining period's fees on a pro-rata basis (in proportion to the months left) "within 10 days". ThePrint's July 2025 report on dropout refunds covers both brands among others. It quotes an ALLEN policy that "after 30 days from the batch commencement date, we cannot accept the request", and describes the guidelines as advisory. Our reading is that the paper you sign matters more than the guideline. Our refund-terms guide shows how to read it.

As of October 2026, Rajasthan's Coaching Centres (Control and Regulation) Act, 2025 (Act 16 of 2025) requires pro-rata refunds within ten days for students who leave mid-course, including hostel and mess fees, for centres in Rajasthan such as Kota.

A worked illustration, our own model and not either brand's rule: on a 12-month course costing ₹1,00,000, leaving after month 4 leaves 8 months. A pro-rata refund is 8 ÷ 12 × ₹1,00,000 = ₹66,667. Compare that figure with what your centre's paper says you would get back.

What happened at FIITJEE centres, and what should you ask any centre?

In January 2025 several FIITJEE centres closed abruptly, including Noida and Ghaziabad, and ThePrint also names Patna, Bhopal and Varanasi. Careers360 reported that the owner and 11 others were booked on a parents' complaint. These are allegations, not findings.

ThePrint reported that parents had paid ₹1 lakh to ₹5 lakh in advance and that FIITJEE called the episode a "pre-planned external conspiracy". In April 2025 the Noida centre reopened as "FIITJEE 2.0", and parents protested outside it, according to Careers360 on 14 April 2025.

In February 2026 FIITJEE announced proportionate refunds for students hit by the 2025 disruption. Parents were to get amounts by 15 June 2026, processing was to start in late June, and the Delhi corporate office was to run it (Careers360; Free Press Journal). The same coverage describes a "FIITJEE Universe" licensing framework for centres, under which FIITJEE licenses centres to operators. As of October 2026 we could not find a published report confirming that the promised refunds were paid.

The "no refund" clause has also been challenged. On 20 November 2025 the Delhi State Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission upheld a refund order against FIITJEE for a student who withdrew after two classes: ₹3,20,000 refund, ₹25,000 compensation and ₹25,000 costs, plus interest. As reported, the commission called the no-refund clause "arbitrary and one-sided".

Our advice is to ask any centre, of either brand, which company issues the receipt and what happens if the centre closes. Ask parents of earlier batches whether a promised refund arrived.

How do you check a FIITJEE or ALLEN centre before paying?

Run six tests at the centre you would actually attend and get each answer on paper. Each has a pass and a fail.

Who runs this centre, and who issues the receipt?

Pass: the centre names the company on the receipt and a person you can write to. Fail: "the head office handles that."

What is the refund schedule, in writing?

Pass: a dated first-refund and last-refund date, and the deduction at each, before you pay. Fail: "it's on the website" or "fees are non-refundable".

What would I get back if I left in month 4?

Pass: an amount and a payment day, which you can compare with the pro-rata illustration above. Fail: no figure.

Who will teach Physics, Chemistry and Maths in my batch?

Pass: three names, confirmed by a current student as teaching there last year. Fail: "faculty will be assigned."

Did I sit in one ordinary class and get the all-in fee?

Pass: you attended a normal class of the batch you would join and got tuition, Goods and Services Tax (GST), test series, material and any hostel cost in one written quote. Fail: a tuition-only figure. Our fee comparison calculator adds these up, and our JEE fees guide explains why no single price is typical.

What are this centre's own results?

Pass: selections from this centre with the number of students who enrolled. Fail: only a national top-rank headline.

Why use Online Coaching 4u to compare FIITJEE and ALLEN centres?

Our directory helps you shortlist centres; the six tests are for you to run with the centre. These reasons come from how we operate:

  1. It is free. Students browse, compare, send enquiries and submit reviews without paying us.
  2. You can narrow to your case. Browse by exam, city, study mode and verification status. Our coaching directory lists FIITJEE and ALLEN centres in many cities, such as FIITJEE Noida (check its current status, since this centre closed in January 2025 and reopened in April 2025) and ALLEN Meerut.
  3. Verification has a stated meaning. A Verified badge means the institute shared its details and we checked them against trusted online sources. It does not guarantee results (what the badge means).
  4. Ratings are kept apart. Google ratings show separately from reviews collected on our platform.
  5. Promotion is labelled, and your number goes to one institute. Institutes can pay for promoted placement, and it is always labelled. Your contact details go only to the institute you enquire about.

To use it: open the centre's profile, send a callback request, and put the six questions to the centre. Confirm fees, batches, faculty and refund terms with the centre directly. If you are also weighing another pairing, see Allen vs Aakash.

When might neither brand suit you?

Pick on your own situation, then apply the six tests. Neither brand may suit you if your centre cannot show a refund schedule in writing. Look at other centres in your city.

Our verdict

Neither is better for every student preparing for the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE), and anyone who names a winner without naming your centre, batch and teachers is guessing.

How we compared

They overlap on JEE but differ in scope and in how they publish refund rules. Table entries are each brand's own published claims, read from each brand's own website as of October 2026. The ₹66,667 figure is our model: 8 months remaining ÷ 12 months × ₹1,00,000.

Frequently asked

Neither can be ranked in general. The setting differs: South Delhi lets a Delhi family keep the student at home, while Kota usually means relocating and paying hostel and mess costs. As of October 2026, Rajasthan's Coaching Centres (Control and Regulation) Act, 2025 requires pro-rata refunds within ten days for students who leave mid-course, including hostel and mess fees, for centres in Rajasthan such as Kota. Run the six tests at both, and use the fee calculator to compare the all-in cost.
No. Some centres in Delhi-NCR closed in January 2025, and Noida reopened in April 2025. FIITJEE's website still lists its programmes and a state-wise centre page as of October 2026. Check your own centre's status in writing, since the closures were centre-specific.
It depends on your centre and programme, and both quote by centre. Compare all-in quotes covering tuition, GST, test series, material and any hostel cost, taken in writing from each centre. Our JEE fees guide explains why one typical price does not exist.
It depends on the centre's written terms, and in Rajasthan the law requires a pro-rata refund within ten days. As of October 2026, Rajasthan's Coaching Centres (Control and Regulation) Act, 2025 requires this for students who leave mid-course, including hostel and mess fees, for centres in Rajasthan such as Kota. Ask the centre to write down, before you pay, the refund dates, the deduction at each date and the day the money reaches your account.
