SSC Coaching Fees in India: What ₹1,699 to ₹22,000 Buys

In October 2026, SSC (Staff Selection Commission) coaching fees on providers' own price pages run from a ₹1,699 special-offer online batch to a ₹22,000 classroom course, and quotes can exclude tax.

A young woman studies at a desk by a window with a notebook, a workbook and a laptop showing a video lesson.

Key takeaways

  • As of 9 October 2026, four providers' own price pages show nine published SSC prices or ranges, from ₹1,699 to ₹22,000. That is about 13 times from lowest to highest, so no single "average fee" is reliable.
  • Mode alone does not predict price. Online courses run from ₹1,699 (PW, a special-offer price) to ₹18,000 (Sreedhar's CCE), while classroom or mixed-mode courses run from ₹9,640 to ₹22,000.
  • Compare the total you will pay: fee, GST (Goods and Services Tax), registration and anything sold separately. Divide by the number of tests and months to see what you actually get.
  • Get the total, the exams covered, the course end date and the refund terms in writing before you pay.

Two quotes for the same exam are often two different products. One covers every Staff Selection Commission (SSC) exam you plan to sit, shows the tax and gives you a year of access. The other quotes a lower tuition fee and sells tests, books or a repeat batch separately.

That is why published prices for the same exam differ by an order of magnitude. The useful question is what a given fee covers, how long it lasts and what you can get back if you stop.

This page sets four providers' published prices side by side: Physics Wallah (PW), Sreedhar's CCE, Scholars SSC Academy and IBT India. Each publishes its own price. It then shows how to turn any quote into a total you can compare, and ends with a worksheet to fill in before you pay.

Online Coaching 4u is a directory and publishes this page. We do not sell SSC courses, so we are not one of the providers priced here.

How much do SSC coaching fees cost in 2026?

As of 9 October 2026, four providers' own price pages show SSC coaching fees from ₹1,699 to ₹22,000. The lowest is a special-offer online batch from PW. The ₹22,000 top price is a classroom course for the CGL exam at Sreedhar's CCE. Classroom or mixed-mode courses run from ₹9,640 to ₹22,000.

Each exam is separate. CGL is Combined Graduate Level, CHSL is Combined Higher Secondary Level, MTS is Multi-Tasking Staff, CPO is Central Police Organisation and GD Constable is General Duty Constable.

All prices were checked on 9 October 2026 and can change. PW shows ₹1,699 as a special-offer price, so the figure may differ when you read this. Sreedhar's own summary table and its per-exam lists differ (its summary shows ₹8,999 to ₹22,000 online and ₹14,000 to ₹20,000 in the classroom). The table uses the per-exam lists, which for CGL are ₹9,999 to ₹18,000 online and ₹14,000 to ₹22,000 in the classroom.

Our working: the lowest price is ₹1,699 and the highest is ₹22,000, and 22,000 ÷ 1,699 is about 13. The cheapest classroom or mixed-mode price (₹9,640) is more than double the dearest PW batch (₹4,499). Every figure is the provider's own price, so the table shows what each seller asks, not what students pay after discounts.

Why does one SSC course cost ₹1,699 and another ₹16,000?

Price follows what is bundled, not mode alone. Online courses run from ₹1,699 (PW) to ₹18,000 (Sreedhar's CCE), so online can be the cheapest or close to the dearest. What changes the price is live hours, printed books, doubt time, batch size and how long you keep access.

Three comparisons from the table show what a rupee buys:

  • Books. PW's PRO tier costs ₹1,500 more than Infinity (₹4,499 minus ₹2,999) and adds a physical set of 11 books.
  • Duration. Scholars charges ₹9,640 for 4 months and ₹15,360 for 6 months. That is ₹2,410 and ₹2,560 a month. The longer course adds one-on-one doubt sessions and performance analysis, so it is worth the extra only if you will use them.
  • Tests. Fee divided by tests listed gives about ₹30 per test for SAFAR Infinity (100 tests), about ₹34 for PW Surya (50) and about ₹45 for SAFAR PRO. This is our working. The tests include mini mocks, so full-length mocks cost more each.

Ignore the crossed-out price. PW shows ₹3,999, ₹7,499 and ₹13,499 against selling prices of ₹1,699, ₹2,999 and ₹4,499. The crossed-out figure is a list price (the MRP, or maximum retail price), not what anyone pays, so compare selling prices only.

Printed books, a laptop, headphones, a notepad and a sand timer laid out on a desk.
Books, live hours, doubt time and access length are the parts that move a course's price.

What does a quoted SSC coaching fee leave out?

A quoted fee can leave out GST and registration charges, and those are often outside any refund. Sreedhar's CCE states that its fees are subject to applicable GST. For refunds it counts only the course-fee portion, spread over the 100 working days, and treats registration fee and GST as generally non-refundable.

Here is the arithmetic, as our illustration rather than any provider's figure. Assume 18% GST (read the rate on your invoice):

  • ₹16,000 × 0.18 = ₹2,880 in tax.
  • ₹16,000 + ₹2,880 = ₹18,880 payable.
  • A ₹17,500 all-inclusive quote is therefore cheaper than a ₹16,000 quote with GST added.

The fee also does not cover living near a centre. If you would move to study offline, add rent, food and travel before comparing with an online batch. Our coaching fee comparison calculator looks beyond the tuition quote when you line institutes up. How refunds and exit terms work is explained in how to check a coaching refund policy.

A short stack of coins beside a taller stack with extra small stacks, next to a blank form and pen.
Tax and registration charges can lift the amount you pay well above the quoted course fee.

How do you compare two SSC coaching quotes before paying?

Ask each institute for the same eight answers in writing, then test each against the pass line below. A quote that fails the first check cannot be compared at all, so stop there and ask again.

CheckPassFail
1. Total payableOne figure in writing that shows GST, registration and any other charge"Approximately", a verbal figure, or tax left out
2. Exams coveredNames every exam you want (CGL, CHSL, MTS or GD Constable) and each tier"SSC" with no exam named
3. DatesStart and end date, and access that runs past your exam dateAccess that ends before your exam
4. TestsA stated count of tests, so you can calculate fee ÷ testsNo count
5. MaterialLists what is printed and what is a PDF"Study material included" with no list
6. DoubtsSays who clears doubts, how, and whenOnly "doubt support"
7. Repeat batchSays whether you can re-attend and what it costsSilent
8. RefundWritten terms before you pay, including what is non-refundableTold "non-refundable" in person only

Then fill in three lines for each institute:

  • True cost = fee + GST + registration + anything sold separately.
  • Cost per test = true cost ÷ number of tests.
  • Cost per month = true cost ÷ months of access.

Sit in a demo class before paying wherever one is offered. Our guide to using evidence checks before choosing a coaching institute lists further checks to run before you hand over a fee.

Which SSC course fits your exam, budget and city?

Match the course to how you study, not to the lowest figure. This is our recommendation, built from the prices above.

Your situationWhere to startWhy
Disciplined, low budget, CGL or CHSLAn online batch at ₹1,699 to ₹4,499 (PW)Live or recorded teaching and 50 to 100 tests at the lowest price on these pages; teaching is in Hinglish
Need daily structure and a teacher in front of youA classroom or mixed-mode course at ₹9,640 to ₹22,000Fixed classes and in-person doubt time; the price depends on city, so ask for batch size
Preparing for SSC and bank exams togetherA combined courseIBT's SSC plus Bank course costs ₹2,000 more than SSC alone (₹18,000 minus ₹16,000), so check that the extra covers a second syllabus
Unsure you will keep upThe shortest or cheapest option with written refund termsPay for the longer course only once you have finished the first month

Choose the city and language first, because they decide which providers are open to you. Sreedhar's CCE teaches in Telugu and English at centres in four states, PW teaches online in Hinglish and IBT is in Mukherjee Nagar, Delhi. If you are comparing Delhi options, see coaching institutes in Delhi, compared by exam and area.

Coaching fees are separate from the exam's own application fee. The Staff Selection Commission's CGL examination notice, uploaded on 21 May 2026, sets that fee at ₹100 and lists the groups exempt from paying it.

How can you compare SSC institutes before you enquire?

We list online, classroom and hybrid SSC coaching institutes. You can filter them by exam, city, study mode and verification status, and compare them without paying us anything. We do not teach or take course payments, so the fee you pay is always agreed directly with the institute.

A Verified badge means the institute shared its details with us and we verified them. It is not a promise of results. Reviews collected on our platform appear directly, and reviews from third-party sources are listed separately.

When you enquire, send the eight checks above. Fees, batches, faculty, duration and refund terms are confirmed with the institute. Use the online coaching directory and its SSC filter to shortlist, then ask each institute for a written quote before you decide. Compare SSC coaching institutes on Online Coaching 4u.

Frequently asked questions

There is no reliable average. Fees in the table run from ₹1,699 online to ₹22,000 in the classroom, and two courses at the same fee can include very different things.
IBT India's Mukherjee Nagar page lists ₹16,000 for SSC and ₹18,000 for SSC plus Bank. Other institutes set their own fees, so ask each for a written total including GST before comparing.
As of 9 October 2026, Sreedhar's CCE lists CHSL separately at ₹8,999 to ₹14,000 online and ₹12,000 to ₹18,000 in the classroom, plus GST. PW's SAFAR 2027 CGL and CHSL foundation batch costs ₹2,999 or ₹4,499, and IBT's ₹16,000 SSC course names CHSL.
It pays off when you will use what the fee buys: fixed classes, regular tests and doubt time. A low-priced batch you finish gives more than a dear course you abandon, so check the cost per test and sit a demo first.
Only as far as the institute's written terms allow, so get them before you pay. Ask how the unused part is worked out, what the cut-off date is and which charges sit outside the refund.
